BLACK SABBATH Guitarist Opens New LANEY Site: Photos Available
December 4, 2004BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi cut the ribbon to open Laney's brand new premises in Halesowen, West Midlands on Thursday (Dec. 2). The site houses the sales and technical departments and the production line of the high-end valve amplifiers. The bulk of the building is the warehouse for the distribution of Laney, Ibanez and Tama gear. Laney moved from four separate factory units around the Cradley Heath area to the new premises last month.
Iommi has a long association with the Laney brand, having used their amps from the very early SABBATH days, and collaborated with the company in the mid-90s to produce the GH 100 TI model. The ceremony yesterday was the fulfilment of a longstanding promise made by Tony to Lyndon Laney to perform the official opening at their new location.
